Welcome to Strong Young Minds

The Strong Young Minds Project – improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people in Herefordshire

If you are between the ages of 10-26 and struggling with your own mental health or would like to help others improve their wellbeing, you’re in the right place.

So who are we?

Strong Young Minds is a Lottery funded project delivered by The CLD Trust. We’re here to improve the mental health and wellbeing of young people in Herefordshire, and we’ve been doing that since 2015.

The Strong Young Minds programme is for all young people (10 – 26 yrs) in Herefordshire.

We work with young people to address issues which can have a negative effect on their mental health and wellbeing – things like anxiety, depression, eating difficulties, self-harm, bullying, relationship breakdown, education & employment, low self-esteem, body image and loss.

Young people can be offered the opportunity for one-to-one support, brief intervention therapy, workshops and groups in addition to peer listening and support. And we have youth workers out and about in the community delivering activities aimed to promote the emotional resilience everyone needs to cope with stress and anxiety.

Perhaps you just fancy joining in with one of our campaigns on social media, or one of our exhibitions, and sharing your views and your talents.

The Strong Young Minds programme works with young people, their parents/carers and professionals and supports young people as Champions raising awareness of the importance of good mental health in their communities.

I need mental health support

Sadly, the NHS has recently decided not to renew the contract for the CLD Trust’s mental health services in Herefordshire.  Because Strong Young Minds is a part of the CLD Trust this means we are not entirely sure what is happening with Strong Young Minds at the moment.  Although we are confident the service will continue, this uncertainty means that we can’t accept new referrals at the moment.  We will update this webpage as soon as we have more information to share.

If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact the CEO of the CLD Trust, Nick Dunster, at nick@thecldtrust.org
